Frequently Asked Questions

We welcome any questions you may have and we want all your questions to be answered before we start the journey. Please don’t hesitate to schedule a meeting with us so we can better understand your needs and design your surrogacy plan for you.

What is the duration of the surrogacy process?

The whole journey takes about 16~22 months from when you first contact us to when you recover from the delivery.

Do I need to take any medication? if yes, how long will it be?

Medications may involve injections, oral tablets and vaginal inserts which will last about 5 weeks during the medical treatment and you will need to continue the medications for about 6~10 weeks once pregnancy is confirmed.

Do I have to carry multiples?

It would be your choice to transfer 1 or multiple embryos. However, the embryo could split and you may end up with multiples even if we transfer only 1 embryo.

Do I need to have health insurance?

No, you don’t need to have your own health insurance. We will provide health insurance once the heartbeat is confirmed.

Is a C-section required?

Only if deemed medically necessary by your OBGYN.

Will I still be supported by Loving Journey after delivery?

Yes, we definitely support you because you’re part of our big family now. Your health insurance and life insurance will last for 2 months after delivery.

Am I required to breastfeed?

No, you’re not required to breastfeed but you may provide breast milk for your intended parents and get compensated for $300 per week.

Can the Intended Parents change their mind on the surrogacy?

It has never happened with intended parents through Loving Journey and you’re protected by your legal contract. It’s a big commitment to go through the surrogacy process and all of our intended parents are eager to bring their babies home.

Do I get to choose the Intended Parents?

We will work with you to find the best match.

Am I allowed to choose my own OBGYN?

Yes, you may choose your own OBGYN as long as he/she is within the network of your insurance.

Should I include my compensation when I file for taxes?

You will need to consult with your local tax professional. Neither Loving Journey nor intended parents will issue a 1099 or W2 tax form.

Will this medical treatment negatively affect my health?

The medications you take during the process may cause side effects. Most procedures are noninvasive and are very safe. Your doctors and OBGYN will discuss risks and side effects with you for each treatment.
